Measure the power consumption of an output device.

Stepper motor¶

Multimeter¶

To measure the current neede to spin the stepper motor we used a multimeter. To measure current, it is necessary to connect the multimeter in series with the circuit, as shown in the image.

According to the measure, the stepper motor is consuming 71 mA at this speed without any load.

Power formula is W = I x V. We are applying a 12 V source. So:

P = 0,071 A x 12 V

P = 0,84 W
