WHAT WILL IT DO?

I making a led alarm clock using neo pixel. The clock will also have an interesting alarm system which consists of a buzzer alarm and a water jet pump. If the user didn't swictched off within 1 minute, the clock will spray water.
Digitally addressable LEDs allow you to control large numbers of LEDs using digital communication to tiny onboard chips integrated into the LEDs which read these digital commands and do all the heavy lifting for you.

I found this page in thingiverse which is similar to my idea.


In this design, they used only 3D printed parts. I will be using both 3D printers and acrylic sheets.

WHAT WILL YOU DESIGN

I will be designing 7 segment display in fusion 360. The top portion will be covered with 6mm clear acrylic sheets. For diffusing light I should try both engraving and sand blasting.

WHAT QUESTIONS NEED TO BE ANSWERED ?

  • How to make leak proof reservoir?
    Use flexquick glue for joinig the sheets and silicon glue for fixing leak.
  • How to set alarm and adjust time?
    Add bluetooth module and develop android app
  • How to bend acrylic ?
    Using kerf bending and also hot air blower.
  • How to keep time even after power failures ?
    By using RTC(Real Time Clock) module.
  • How to spray water ?
    By fixing 3D printed nozzles.

HOW THE PROJECT DEVELOPEMENT GOING ?

AS the part of the project development, I planned the process need to take to complete my project. Most of the parts are made from fablab. The enclossure and other parts related to the project like 3D printed parts were machined from fablab, so the perfection is depending on my design. The neo pixel led and water pumprecieved from aliexperss after 30 days of waiting.

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE ?

I planing to make the 7segment display in 3d print first. Later I will do the Vinyl pcb. After I will finish the hardware part.
