Epi! I am Alberto Martinez - the basque industrial designer based in Barcelona since 2011. My background is based on product design + industrial design engineering.

Firm believer on design as a social transformation tool. I am keen on working on projects that include collaborative action through a circular economy that turns everyone into a key agent in the process of Human Centered Design.

BIO

In 2011 I started my studies on Industrial Design Engineering and Product Design at Elisava School in Barcelona.

In 2013, a group of classmates and I co-founded a multidisciplinary collective called col.lec, with the main goal of getting to know other students from different creative and non-creative fields in Barcelona. As a collective we started arranging workshops and activities for other students such as Light Up!.

After two years of work we realised that what we were doing had very much to do with arts installations, so we turned our collective into a Human Experience Design Studio. In the studio we mixed arts, design and technology to create immersive and interactive experiences for events in galleries, museums, music festivals and commercial events. Some projects that we created were: Essencia, Here: the square of the future, The Awareness Pool, or My Artificial Muse.

'Here: the square of the future'.

In 2016, we created col.lec's think-tank: col.lec x. While working on col.lec's projects, two members of the team and I developed collaborative projects geared towards transdisciplinary groups of students through workshops, exhibitions, debates or research projects. We reached to more than 100 students from around 15 universities. Here you can find some projects developed in col.lec x: Out of Metrics I: Limits textils, Move Away, or Out of Metrics II: Reactive Skins.
