Final Project Proposal

Ideas

The first time when arrived to my Fablab and my instructor Covadonga ask me about the Final Project Proposal, i couldn´t to tell one to her. A large list about posible projects are classified in my notebook in three ways :

• A Folk Fashion wearable for develop skills in soft circuits.
• A brain computer interface because i´m studying this last 3 years.
• A portable capacitive sound device based on disciplines mix like chemistry and electronics, this will be use for inputs assignment.

After discard some ideas for and talking with my instructor for appart others for future assignments, i decided to make something i love.

My process for design an interactive project always follow a pattern. (I´m dyslexic so usually learn with mind maps, colors, photos and it´s passing the time and i apply this method for a lot things.)

1. First step is focus about emotions, people feelings, my feelings about the experiences with anything, anything universal, anything which maybe it´s invented, have a long history, it´s traditional. My sense of roots and folks is important at this pattern but not always i can practice.
2. Another ingredient is a "Concept", i need a concept for develop an idea, i love abstract concepts, right , so any concept came from my interests at the moment, for example i write poems, methaphorics and rares… may i can use one for anything!!
3. Reality : costs, timeline, design, develop ….

An IoT Kite

An Instrument for Practice the Environmental Respect

3 Years ago I pass different surgeries that didn´t allow to me Swim or practice bodysurf, i couldn´t get baths during this time. My family have a little house at Spain´s south coast close to Cádiz and it´s popular the kite´s flight on sand during the sunset or when the wind is blowing (these it´s all the year).

During this hard´s days, a “Cometa” was my mindFull therapy. When flow it, i focused in my peaceful recovery, on next steps, how will be contribute, how will be better for others, how grow, how take happy decisions. When returned to home I felt in calm. This therapy allowed me to be more conscious about the enviroment and was a seed for today.

A Kite represent me, it´s a symbol in my culture, a flight device suspended trough a thread which control depends of the uncertain wind and your skill. It´s like lyrics, right?. All the inventors studied the posibility of fly with a device.

Since I live in Madrid never flow one again, i miss that.

I like to make a "Digital Kite" which can communicates with you, others and other Kites sending a feedback about the Sky , Wind´s conditions and Pollution´s risk Data visuallizing them in a device. Also during the flight you can take interesting "lightpainting´s pics " that will send you more code information .

I never make a kite before, each summer, got the first i founded at home and go to the beach immediately. Never had thought about his structure or mechanics for respond to the wind but when you fly one, you can feel how you connect with world flowing nature´s vibes.

I never had my own which could be share with others faraway the beach. This sounds exciting. Connecting some Kites at different points of the planet where also is a tradition.

Develop this Project at fabAcademy can make to remember people, the importance to tradition´s cares, now more than never when we are living “feverdrone”. I love drone as well, they are functional and practices for a lot tasks and fly them are really fun but I loved Kites too.

I like to make one easy for make by others. For start it could be a cool instruments for my students at Tech Summer´s Camps.

INSPIRING

1. First,my Grandfather, the first maker who I knew it. A surgeon who was an awesome man "Making Almost Anything" with analog and some electronics tools which I conserve like treasures.I loved look him working in his useful or hobby stuff. He teached me and the most important thing, he got me to fly with him inside his "Ala Delta when I was 4 years old, I can´t never forget this. (my mom was terrorized by that) so Thanks!!
2. My Grandmas, both for teach me knitting, sewing and make crochet.
3. My parents with their disciplines, thanks for your seeds about biochemistry and creativity, for taked me every book I asked.

I found a lot references about models, types and one of the most important thing, the aerodynamics studies and planes for the best references. For that, the NASAhave helpfully files and information about forces, resistences, torques, materials...but still researching in different ways.
