The assignment this week is to actuate and automate our machine and document the group project and our individual contribution.
The documentation can be found on our group site I and Carl were trying to export G-code to the machine, we decided to use fusion to export the g-code. We designed a little spiral that we wanted to cut with the new rotary attatchment that we made. unfortunetly we hade problems with exporting the g-code. Me and Bergþóra also spent some time connecting the motors to the tinyg and getting a connection to chillipepper and testing it with coolterm. We got it to work in both chillipepper and coolterm. It was the first time both of us used these programs but we read online that it would be best to start testing the tinyg and connections to motors using coolterm. Coolterm is pretty easy to use for beginners and we could test all the motors and the connections were all working. Than we tried to get a connection through chilipepr. There are a few ways you can use chilipeppr, you can contol it manually with the Jog control buttons, import g-code, png images, svg files and more. We manage to import png images and svg files and the machine worked according to the file we imported. We had problems importing the gcode.
