To design this machine, we first talk to the people who are going to operate it so that the machine is the easiest to handle since they are craftsmen who are not involved in the technology issue, so it should be very simple operation for the user. To make this possible we had to fix both the design and the electronic part
In the design we work with a 2-axis machine model in order to simplify the processes for the craftsman.
The design process was developed in Solidworks because of its simplicity and ease of mechanical design. We are
also based on the machine we designed last year's fab academy. Below is the link of the machine from last year.
The designs of the pieces are made by generating adapters in the angles that are responsible for structuring the steel tube to create the guiding frame of the machine.
The X axis consists of two motors for greater precision of movement for each axis used threaded rods of 5/8" these subject to each motor of the two axes and fastened with a reliman to avoid friction when moving the machine.
On the Y axis we find a single motor with a threaded rod of the same size and reinforced with a steel rod, in which the ceramic injector head fits.
Once we design the pieces for each axis we do a simulation of assemblies to be able to verify that all the measurements are well and everything works correctly for this we use the different types of position relationships that the software allows us.
