Open Vibes = Open Source
Why?
My final project has lofty goals which spread beyond the final date of FabAcedemy. One such goal is to spread the accessability and creation force which lies in all of us. I want to break the bounderies between product and user. To be able to do this the bounds of technology and licencing need to be torn up. For this purpuse Open Source is an excellent path. I would like it to be as open as possible, to be fully shared between everyone.
To make it even more employable by the users I will launch tutorials to teach others how to utilize the Open Source licencing of the products. This would go along with a website to share designs and tutorials on (much like instructables) in which the users sharing automatically open source their own designs.
Website and Brand
In order not to be imposed upon by duplicity I would have to consider trademarketing my brand. But this is for the future me to figure out.
Limitations, I solve you
There is one big limitation to building oneself a sextoy without reverse engineering a pre-existing one. This is the hardware. In order to get a good vibration motor one would have to build one oneself and this is a complicated task. With this in mind I have found it to be the best option to create kits the users could order to be able to make their toys without having to find all the components on their own.
