Mechanical Design
It is unfortunate that I don't have a group, I am the only student, so I worked together with my guru to do this weeks assignment. For my mechanical design, I decided to use the example by Nadia Peek and downloaded the files from the website from previous students on the machine design. I opened the cutting files from the website and imported them into Corel draw. Using the color mapping function on the laser cutter parameter settings, I was able to cut the parts at varying power, frequency and speed. After cutting all the parts, I assembled the parts together with the motors bushings actuators, rods etc. I then tried it out manually to make sure it moves correctly.
