Computer controlled machining
The wood we are going to use to design our furniture is late’ wood with thickness 17.33mm.
Testing wood parameters:
- We have created 4 slots with different thickness (17 mm, 17.1 mm,17.2 mm,17.3 mm) in order to test the best press fit for our wood, the best was actually 17 mm so we amended our design to 17 mm
For this test we tried both up-cut cutting bit and the down cut bit in addition to the conventional bit\
- spindle speed between 14,000 to 18,000
- feed rate: 1 to 3 inch per second
