A 3D scanner is a device that analyses a real-world object or environment to collect data on its shape and possibly its appearance (e.g. colour). The collected data can then be used to construct digital three-dimensional models.
Many different technologies can be used to build these 3D-scanning devices; each technology comes with its own limitations, advantages and costs. Many limitations in the kind of objects that can be digitised are still present, for example, optical technology, may encounter many difficulties with shiny, mirroring or transparent objects. For example, industrial computed tomography scanning and structured-light 3D scanners can be used to construct digital 3D models, without destructive testing.
The Sense 3D scanner software produces STL, OBJ and PLY files from the final scan. The latter two support per-vertex color output.
As assignment say i try to scan smal object which is Drilling machine the software help me to scan it it called sense.
After scaning i print it on 3DWOX printer.
After Scanning and Printing it look like this on the following image.

Thingiverse is a website dedicated to the sharing of user-created digital design files. Providing primarily open source hardware designs licensed under the GNU General Public License or Creative Commons licenses, users choose the type of user license they wish to attach to the designs they share. 3D printers, laser cutters, milling machines and many other technologies can be used to physically create the files shared by the users on Thingiverse.
Thingiverse is widely used in the DIY technology and Maker communities, by the RepRap Project, and by 3D Printer and MakerBot operators. Numerous technical projects use Thingiverse as a repository for shared innovation and dissemination of source materials to the public. Many of the objects are for the purpose of repair.
This object you look above is i have print on the following setting on normal speed and normal quality.
As you it is not look like good because we see all details of layers on the object. All this it is caused by the setting we talk above
The following image is to change setting of our 3D printer to put on low speed and high quality also put support everywhere.
After changing the setting it look like this on this image above.
Before i print first i design chain object by using software which called solidWorks.
Again before print we need to save your file into STL file for example chain.STL this take me lot of time to known how to save assemble design into stl file. But we can see how i solve it on image below.
