The VI lecture of Fabacademy 2015 was on Wednesday 4 March at 3 o’clock p.m..
As usual, the first part of the lesson is spent with the revisions of previous module.
The lesson was based on the knowledge of software for the design of the board and on the components to be included on the card, you can see the entire video of the lesson.
Redraw the echo hello-world board, add (at least) a button and LED (with current-limiting resistor) check the design rules, and make it
extra credit: simulate its operation.
Exercise n1: Design the echo hello-world board, whit new components
The first step was chose and download the software, i try to work whit Eagle , the last realis of eagle-mac-7.2.0.zip.
Eagle lets you import component libraries, so following the directions of the tutor we installed the package Fab.ibr. Later we tried the components to be included in the initial three resistances, led, ground, capacitor.
After you have found the right place to components, following the default schema, I started working on the spaces, it is important to leave space to allow for easy welding of components. To facilitate the work design and insertion components, Eagle allows you to view the board in different ways, the first allows you to see where and how they are distributed and connected components, while the other option allows you to see the actual design of the board .
So slowly I was able to put all the elements in the board and I have prepared the file for milling.
I had many difficulties because of the compatibility of the software with my computer (I use a MacBookPro), many operations ono not allowed, and often the program rsponde to commands, to update the changes made have been forced to close the software and then riprierlo several times. This does not seem a streamlined way to work, so I was advised to use the previous version of Eagle. Certainly for the next design of a board will test the previous version!
Exercise n2: Make it!
The second exercise was aimed milling board and soldering components.
The milling of the board this time we performed with a cutter with 1800mm x 2200mm working area, the gentle giant!
was painstaking work but satisfying, on the boards settled the following components.
