Invention

I’m interested in art. My final project could be described as an artistic study exploring aesthetics, new possibilities and unique features of digital fabrication. As far as I’m able to see it at the moment, key features of digital fabrication are precise design and reproduction, possibilties to create unique shapes and clean aesthetics, and furthermore electronics offering, among others, a range of interactivity, communication and movement. Delving into these subjects by creating artworks may lead to a solid body of work and probably to inventions. But inventions aren’t my aim. I want to experiment and play.

Intellectual property

All creative work is subject to copyright. The work may be reproduced, modified, distributed, performed, and displayed for any non-commercial, experimental and personal purpose. Copyright is retained and must be preserved. The work is provided as is; no warranty is provided, and users accept all liability.

Income

I would like to go on exploring digital fabrication within art. It may lead to exciting exhibitions. To work on digitally fabricated artworks, I would need free access to appropriate facilities. Furthermore, I would need a grant. A grant would give me time and space to make art.

If my work would be recognized well and people would be interested in it, I would probably earn some money teaching or selling my artworks. The artworks could be produced in a limited edition to increase their value.

During the last months I got another idea. I thought it could be very interesting to establish a Fab Academy fab lab focused on art and located in Berlin. Berlin is a hot spot for contemporary art and thousands of artists live and work there. This fab lab would bring together contemporary art and digital fabrication. Artists could study digital fabrication and develop new ideas. I’m sure that this spot would generate a unique output. An exhibition space should be affiliated to it. I would like to draw up this idea.
