Schnyder - Final Project Proposal - Using or Exhausting Heat from a Solarium

I have a solarium attached to my house. This space in unheated with little insulation. In the summer, the space is too hot and in the winter it is too cold.

Sketch of solarium

I am going to undertake a project to monitor and manage the temperature and humidity of the room so that it can be used more throughout the year. I want to monitor the temperature and humidity at different points of the room, the adjoining rooms, and the outside. Based on these readings I want to move warm air into the house during the winter or open up the skylights to exhaust excess heat in the summer.

For the first phase of the project I will create sensors to measure the temperature and humidity. I want these sensors to be able to communicate readings to a computer or smartphone. In the second phase of the project, I'd like for these sensors to communicate with controls to either start a fan to move warm air from the solarium into the house on cold days or to open up the skylights to exhaust hot air outside of the house.
