Week 4 did not start well. We discovered that the fab modules and our machine (Modela mdx40a) are not compatible. I spent many hours trying to convert the png file into another format using just about every piece of software available here. I managed to get the traces file into a solidworks part and extrude the circuit paths and converted it to a stl file only to discover that the stl was not good, the bit never pick up while moving to different locations. After talking to Blair at Incite Focus in Detroit he was able to write a patch that allowed our mill and fab modules to talk, but for some reason the machines decided that the circuit was finished half way through the cut. Eventually it worked. Soldering was easy enough. Programming went smooth once the correct version on Unbunto was installed. This project was not too bad once all of the bugs were worked out.
